The Art of Voting: a creative collection on the Power of the Ballot 2020
The Art of Voting book features original political posters from more than 60 visual storytellers working at the top of their fields. These inspirational images are paired with personal essays contributed by activists, advocates, and people working within government, as well as everyday citizens. Together, over 100 voices provide an urgent call to action united around a single message: Our democracy is worth saving, and we have the power to do it.
The book was organized by Cawzii Co, and proceeds of the book went to Stacey Abrams’ organization, Fair Fight Action, advocating for equal and fair access to voting and elections.
I chose to focus my piece on the fact that 42% of eligible voters did not vote in the 2016 election. Voting is not the end all be all for creating change, but we need people to participate at many different levels to usher in the better world we want to see.
Family Values @ Work: fight for Paid Family Leave
As part of my work at BerlinRosen, I created social media graphics for Family Values at Work (FV@W), an organization that helps state coalitions educate the public and policymakers about the importance of universal access to Earned Sick Days and Family and Medical Leave Insurance, while emphasizing the particular urgency of this issue for low-wage families and children and the ways it overlaps with racial and gender inequities.
Each graphic was posted in relation to specific work they had underway, as a way to engage their members and to spread awareness of the issues. In the tweet above, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, retweeted a graphic on supporting paid sick days.

Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
I designed this infographic for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) while they were working to raise the minimum wage at Pittsburgh’s largest employer—University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The client knew the facts they wanted to use to present their case, and I worked with them on honing the language and creating a visual journey that would be the most convincing for their issue. Despite this being a serious topic, I wanted to make the visuals engaging as well as educational, making sure the viewers wouldn’t lose interest or get lost in the numbers.
Entrepreneurist
These illustrations were part of a web design and branding project for CEO, entrepreneur, advisor, and speaker Jennifer Love’s company Entrepreneurist. She is currently CEO of One More Woman – a fast-track, high-performance educational and advisory community helping women entrepreneurs take the stress out of the money equation so they can effectively raise, make, manage, and give money. While this site no longer exists, at the time the direction was to create inspiring images to accompany quotes by Jennifer. Each was a hero image to a different page of the website.
